Project Goal

The goal of this project is to inspire us with the lives of our ancestors. Saving beautiful and meaningful selections from our ancestors is in our bones, so we have many pages in Fenton and Lettie’s introduction section of this book. At the time of final editing it became apparent that a third of the entire book would be contained in the introduction — an intimidating prospect for the casual, curious reader. So, we decided to step back and reconsider our goal. Hence, in the final published work we extracted much of the details from Lettie’s writings and placed them into Appendix A. The last appendix — Appendix B — contains much of the work of Wilma W. Adams, which includes her talent with photographs mixed with her delightful prose. We hope you become inspired by the lives of these special ancestors; we hope you remember and cherish your heritage.
